About Our Farm

Sweet Valley Flowers is a small flower farm located in Langley, British Columbia in the Fraser Valley. We are a small, family run farm, that operates from last frost to first frost. That usually means somewhere from April to middle/late October. My name is Terri and I'm the one that runs the show.

We grow everything we sell, and occasionally purchase from other local flower farmers in the Fraser Valley if there's something we need. I love being able to connect with other local growers and create a sense of community amongst us.

My family and I purchased a small acreage in 2023 with no real plans of what we were doing with the land. I thought, buy a few chickens, maybe another dog, and we'd have space to run around and enjoy.

My husband jokingly asked "what are you planning to do with all this?" and on a whim I said, I'm going to grow flowers. From then on, that's been the dream. Make the most of our beautiful property, and grow stunning flowers for the community to enjoy.

We started out in year one only growing dahlias. I fell in love with dahlias many years ago when a friend and I went to a dahlia sale, and I purchased a few dahlia tubers. When I was writing up my business plan, dahlias were my main focus. I thought, grow as many dahlias as possible, sell the tubers. Fairly straight forward, right? I had no real interest in cut flowers. Until I did. We had a very successful first year, growing over 200 dahlias and selling off all the tubers we had available. I had little bunches of dahlias for sale on my front porch, and people came by and bought them. Eventually, I got the itch for more. I wanted to expand my flower inventory, try something new, and experiment with some more complex bouquets. So I did. I bought a ton of seeds, started them and grew somewhere around 10 new flowers. I fell in love with creating bouquets and arrangements I pivoted from just dahlias, to an array of cut flowers and I'm never looking back.

I've never been one to be able to enjoy a hobby or activity passively. Instead I have to let it fully engulf me in every aspect of my life. So thats what I'm doing with flowers. I have no intention of having a small side hustle. I'm growing this farm to its full potential, and to mine. I have big dreams and big aspirations for Sweet Valley Flowers.

I thank you for being along on this flower journey of mine.
